Today Camille turned 3 years old. We had a great day going to MOPS, eating out with Brook and the girls, and seeing Mom, Jason, Becca and Sandy while we were at Chick-Fil-A. Then it was rest time and off to the gym followed by balloons and cupcakes after dinner.
We are trying a new concept this year and asking for and giving only books to Camille for her birthday. She has no need of new toys (thank you, Lord) and truly enjoys sparking her imagination by becoming engrossed in her books. She takes them with her to bed and they are frequently the chosen treasure to take with her in the car anytime we are going anywhere.
Yesterday, we asked her what she would like to have for her birthday, and without any prompting from us she said Barbie books! So she got 3 Barbie books because she is 3 years old. Ahhhh, the way it all falls into place.
This Saturday we are going out to my parent's ranch and are going to live it up in the Party Barn! It is going to be so fun and relaxing and Camille keeps asking if it is Saturday yet. She's excited. There will be many fun pictures from her party, so check back later for those.
For as much hectic solitude as has gone on in this household lately with Jason being gone all the time for the flip house, it has been a real blessing this last week with the kids. I think I'm used to being alone now and my relaxation is transferring to the kids. I must admit I was greatly spoiled by my husband. He was always home, always helping, almost always cooking, helping clean and take care of the kids. Now, I am where most women normally are and it is a lot harder. I miss not being spoiled. But, we'll make it.
I'll leave you with a few pictures of the birthday girl and crew. Happy 3rd birthday, Love.
