He Crawls!

Yes, my friends, he crawls and pushes himself to sitting from his tummy and pulls up! Next task, walking! It will be soon, because he is happiest when someone is holding on to his hands and he is standing. I don't know if he could get any cuter than he is right now. I love this stage and I love his growing out of infancy. When we went to the store today both Camille and Isaac were in the little germ-infested car in the front of the shopping cart. My arms were empty! There were only a few hair pulls (Camille's hair was in pig tails...hard to resist for his little hands) and there was tons of fun as they played together. What a relief! Now, if I could just get him potty trained as well.........

Here is a pic of Little Dude standing on his own two little feet. I'm just there for my own moral support.
Okay (snicker, snicker) I had to add this pic of the two small but mighty loves of my life. The look on Isaac's face is totally reminiscent of his father in front of a camera. Never fails, Jason's pictures with how he blinks his eyes almost always looks like he is on some illegal substance. And Camille looks like a little giraffe with her long neck, unmistakable in my youthful pictures. No doubt which stock these two came from. Could it get any cuter?
There was tons of fun here yesterday as my niece and nephew Alyssa and Pruitt were with us for the day! Camille was enraptured and totally stuck to Alyssa's 3 year old side. We had such a good and busy time and I handled 4 kids just fine. No, that does not mean we are having any more, it is just nice to know I could do it. Jason even got in on the action after work. I think the favorite spot for all the kids was right here on top of Jason. None of them look too pleased in this picture, but that is only because I interrupted their play to snap a pic. There were rolls of laughter that could have been heard all through the neighborhood. And, of course, where there is mud, there is Camille. She was making mud pies and by the look on her face was totally fascinated with her task at hand. Good times, good times.

Last weekend was fishing at the Ranch. I think Camille's Barbie pole was bringing in the most fish, but it was the perfect day, the weather was beautiful, the fish were hungry and we had tons of fun. Here are more pictures than you could ever want to scroll through. These are my blessings. These people right here encompass my thankful list today!

Allergic to........cockroaches!?!?!

Ewww, Gross, Disgusting. Repulsive, Nasty, Blechh. He is allergic to cockroaches, corn, a fish/shellfish mix, lots of trees and D pteronyssinus also known as dust mites. None of the allergies they tested for are bad enough to require an epi-pen or to cause an anaphylactic reaction. Thank you God. First of all, who knew that anyone could be allergic to cockroaches? Isaac has never, to my knowledge, ever come across a cockroach, at least not in my house. I don't know if it is at the gym or one of the nurseries that he goes to, but-that-is-nasty!! But, dude my house is clean. I got the results from his allergy test on Monday and spent the week figuring out what all of it means and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. I know, I know, I can never protect him from everything, but I am going to do my best to keep the dust mites away. Let's have a little science lesson on these suckers, shall we? They are 0.4 mm long and the female beast in this relationship can lay 50 eggs in her give-or-take 36 day life span. Doesn't sound so bad? There are hundreds in one pinch of dust. So, imagine the millions in an average household of dust. Oh mercy. On cockroaches, they have never been in my house. Honestly there aren't many bugs in my house thanks to the handy dandy exterminator. For those of you that have been with me a while, there haven't been any black widow spiders since that blessed contract signing day either. What's a mom to do?

On to a much happier topic. We had a great Easter Sunday. We drove to Mustang to go to Karen and Todd's church and Todd did an amazing job. He has a great way of communicating and I know that his and Karen's work will be blessed. Mom and Dad also drove down and we had a yummy potluck with all of us and some of Todd's friends. Check out the pic of all of us and meet Todd and Karen's little miss cutie patootie Abigail with a head full of curls. She has a little sister on the way who will be here very soon! It was really so much fun. So if you are ever in Mustang, Oklahoma, look up The Vine.

Next stop was Gramps and Granny's house. We had a fun little visit and were able to get the kids some more real good grandparent time. Never can pass that up. They got Camille and Isaac a new little outside bench. Camille was so excited she never would look up at the camera, so I added a picture of Isaac who, interestingly, was not looking at the camera either.

On the topic of Isaac, he now eats Cheerios, some stage 3 foods, will occasionally clap his hands in response to someone else clapping and says "Da da." I'm not sure if he really knows what he is repeating, but it is so exciting to see and hear him do all of these new things.

To all of our dear friends and family that have been our prayer warriors over the last few weeks, thank you. I can't tell you how much we have appreciated the shelter and warmth that you have provided in a big time of need. Isaac has undergone many tests and will hopefully be finished with them all soon if he isn't already. He is definitely my champ and my hero. I'm excited to see him continue to grow and be fully healed and 100% healthy! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

My sweet husband graduates from TU in just 3 weeks. 3 weeks! It seems like just yesterday that he was getting his undergraduate degree and now he has his masters. Talk about another hero. This guy works full time, does his degree work full time, spends a great amount of time with the kids and still manages to make me feel like a spoiled wife. I love that man. I could never ask for a better husband, because I already have the best. I am so proud of him. He has accomplished so much and is only going to achieve so much more. I can't wait to see where he takes us.

Well, with Isaac's 6 day hospital stay comes my dentist appointment on Monday that I know is going to lead to oral surgery to remove my wisdom teeth, one of which is already partially and painfully through, and an MRI for Jason on Tuesday to see if he has to have knee surgery to repair a meniscus tear. Holy moley, what would we do without insurance? Good thing we already met our deductible, but ouch! I'm sure there will be more to come on those stories, and if I do have to have my wisdom teeth removed, I'll post a picture of my chipmunk face for you to snicker at, but on that note, I will leave you with this verse that has been on my bulletin board for the last couple of weeks and a solid source of comfort.

"But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank." Jeremiah 17:7-8a
I found an image of a tree that has a different version of the verse on the bottom, but I wanted the visual to stick with the verse. Much love and blessings to you all.

So much fun...

Maybe it was waking up and knowing it was Saturday and I had Jason home all day, maybe it was because he stayed home with the kids today while they napped so I could run errands solo (sweet sanity!), maybe it was because it was just one of those good days and we had a blast with the kids while Camille did her Easter egg hunt indoors because it was too cold outside, maybe it was because I was singing crazy made-up songs for Jason as I made deliciously fattening oatmeal crispies cookies for Karen and Todd's church tomorrow, maybe it was because Jason and I played an impromptu baseball game in the kitchen with a piece of rolled up foil and oven mitts (I made two home runs and then struck out, but ended it all with a zinger to the blinds), maybe it was because I looked at the snapshots I had just taken of Isaac and said, "It's like he grew up all of a sudden (queue Sunrise, Sunset). Look, he looks different in his pictures.", maybe it was Jason rubbing his belly to commemorate the arrival (finally!!) of Isaac's big-little belly, maybe it was the bathtime with bubbles, ...nah, no maybe anymore...it was God blessing this day right before the celebration of His Resurrection. It was a really good day, a really good day from God. Thank you.
