Tuesday Cleaning

What a great feeling to feel good! After my morning pukies, I have hauled patooty on getting this house clean and it feels so good! I honestly never thought those words would ever come out of my mouth. Yesterday was crazy busy and I was out of the house all day. So, I wanted to make sure and get this in while Camille was enjoying her snack in her very clean highchair.

1. A beautiful day! The house is open and it is nice.

2. My cardio class tonight. What a break from the everyday.

3. Lunching with Cassie yesterday. Even though Carrie wasn't able to make it, it was nice to catch up on how Cass is doing.

4. Jason and I played a new game, Karu, on Yahoo Games for an hour last night. It's a good thing those free trials last only an hour. It went by so fast. We would have been there until midnight if it hadn't ended.

5. Getting ready for Camille's birthday. I ordered the cake yesterday, and it is fun to plan something special for her.

6. Seeing Keri and Anna tomorrow. What fun we'll have!

7. I'm now 16 weeks pregnant.

8. Having Gram available to watch Camille yesterday while I was at the doctor for an insane amount of time waiting for antibiotics.

9. Edy's low fat Whole Fruit Orange and Cream frozen treats from heaven.

10. Microwavable food.

Okay, so maybe not every day...

Some days are just full to overflowing and it is difficult to find a few minutes to sit down at the keyboard. So, as much as I would like to keep my list to daily, it will be as daily as possible. Hee hee!

We finally were able to scan the ultrasound of little Isaac and include it in this post. The first pic is of his outy. His tooshy is to the right, the two white lines are his legs, and the arrow is pointing to you know where. The second picture is a front view. It's so awesome to see this one because Camille had put her hand in front of her face at this same timing of ultrasound last time as if to say she was embarrassed for us finding out she was a girl. Like sister, like brother! The last one is a distinct "Thumbs Up!" from our son. He's just letting us know it's all good in there. He's also letting me know as I can feel his little baby movements now. It feels like a goldfish tapping the outside of a plastic bag with it's nose! So awesome.

1. I am so thankful to all the family that gives clothes to Camille. From the gifts at Christmas and other holidays to the HUGE boxes of clothes from Brook, it is all more appreciated than anyone could ever know.

2. Our church put new, comfortable chairs in their foyer. It was so nice sit out there in comfort with Camille since she still has green snot and we wouldn't take her to the nursery.

3. We found great deals at Wild Oats and Target for our groceries this week.

4. We found a comforter and shams for our bedroom (on SERIOUS SALE) so that we can make the guest bedroom look nice for selling. Hooray, hooray, hooray! I love Target!

5. I saw three people I knew between the two grocery stores. It was really nice to run into each of them just to say a quick "hi".

6. We went to a conference on Saturday that gave us a TON of information on quickly selling our house for the most profit through so many different aspects including staging, cleaning and making it appealing to a large audience. It's amazing to learn how different our house should look to grab the right buyers.

7. I had a very pleasant lunch with Christy on Thursday and we have plans to do some Friday playdates since she no longer works Fridays! Hooray!

8. Camille and I were able to take Keri and Anna to the airport in spite of both of our nasty noses, and will get to see them again on Wednesday and hopefully spend more illness-free time with them.

9. Lunch with Cassie and Carrie tomorrow.

10. Jason thought to look for the perfect plates, cups, napkins and tablecloth for Camille's b-day at the other Target since the Super Target was out of them. They were in the $1 section! Yeehaw!

11. (Special thanks needed here, therefore a number 11) Sunday brunch at BBD II again today. That place rocks! I still polished my plate before Jason...that's good food.

Short and Sweet...

This will be short and sweet since Jason is needing this computer to work on his homework and I don't feel like going into the office.

1. Having an opportunity to just sit on the floor with Jason and Camille and play for a while. What a treat for all of us!

2. Eating lunch with Jason and Camille at Hideaway!

3. Getting to Hideaway before the HUGE crowd.

4. Talking with Keri and finalizing all the details on seeing her on Friday and transporting her and sweet Anna to the airport, and picking them up on Wednesday.

5. Talking with Becca today and just hearing her voice and knowing all is well with her and all her boys.

6. Getting my Artistry order in the mail today. I am actually spending some money on my horribly dry/irritated/pregnant skin instead of trying to skimp and save on other products. The more I see 10 Years Younger on TLC, (my relaxation while Camille naps) the more I realize it is important to take care of my skin now so I don't look 50 when I'm 32.

7. Having lunch with Christy tomorrow to talk babies!

8. Getting an email from Jessica Ahrend on the other side of the world and marveling at how technology keeps friendships alive.

9. Seeing Sasha Cohen jump into first place during the short program on women's figure skating last night. I love the Olympics!

10. Having a peaceful life filled with joy. Maybe something I take for granted too often. God has blessed us richly in so many ways. I want to stay mindful of that, and thank God for all the good that he gives us in our little lives as a family. To think that He constantly wants to know/always knows how are lives are panning out is incomprehensible. And, that He always wants the absolute best for us...it's amazing, humbling and exciting all at once. My mantra from back in high school was, "The God of the universe loves me, that's enough." How true even today, but now there are so many other sources of love that I have been blessed with. Thank you, God. Thank you.

Jason read a post!

1. After a little pleading/nagging/encouraging, Jason finally read two posts on my blog! He even posted a comment on yesterday's, but I think the cologne could have been on him - tee hee, just kidding! I still remember what he wore when we first met, CK One, and I still love the smell of it!

2. Going into Camille's room at night with Jason, checking on her, and doing our best to imitate her sleep position as we leave the room. It is so cute on little babies, and so crazy looking on adults. Hey, at least she's comfy and sound asleep!

3. Talking with Cassie this morning and hearing that she loves her job, is doing really well, and we might actually be able to do lunch together soon!

4. Having Cassie ask if I would like to volunteer for an Alzheimer's Association fundraiser. It is refreshing to know that there is someone out there that still sees my potential in interacting with adults.

5. Working out with Jason last night on the elliptical at the gym. He finally beat me in distance, but I let him because of the baby.

6. Eating Jason's apple bread for breakfast this morning. That man can cook! (For those of you that have not had the opportunity to enjoy it, apple bread is similar to banana bread, but better.)

7. Having a husband that enjoys cooking, because it is the last thing I want to do. Knowing I am not too crazy in my marriage, because Kara and Chris are the same way in that if it's cooked, he does it. Yeah for us!

8. Learning when I went to the doctor last time that I did not gain as much weight during Camille's pregnancy as I thought I did and confirming Jason's knowledge that I can't add and therefore do have a special system called "Sarah Math." But, getting on the scale this morning and at 15 weeks seeing I have fnally gained back the weight I had lost through being sick and have now officially gained 1/2 pound during Isaac's pregnancy.

9. Getting my Mop's Mom Email's. The prayers for our kids at the end of the emails always make me cry (pregnancy hormones), but open my eyes to new ways to pray for my kiddos.

10. Actually feeling pretty good this morning. Only one pukie this morning and smooth sailing so far!

I'll try to make it up to you

The last few days have not been my best in regards to feeling good. My very own philosophy, which is not medically sound, is that dear Isaac is growing at a rapid pace right now and taking it all out of me, and needing, what seems like, twice as much food. Anyone around me right now knows, I don't really like much food, so I am in a stinky quandary. I will say, though, that BBD II's brunch yesterday after church was so good that I cleaned my plate before anyone. I think I also got really worked up over finding out it is a boy and having Kara here for a little while. So, I am going to make up for lost thankfulness by being really thankful today!

1. Absolutely beautiful winter weather! I missed not having a real winter and the last couple of days with the sleet and snow have been a nice change from the 60 and 70 degree weather of late.

2. During all the blissful "frozenness" all family has been kept safe in their travels. You know, it kind of makes me wonder what people in say, Colorado, think about Oklahomans as we tend to flip out over 1 inch of snow and a little ice on the ground. They have actual mountains in which they drive in this stuff all the time! I personally think the weathermen/women get us all worked up over it because it gives them something different to talk about!

3. Target's Market Pantry brand Oats & Honey Crunchy Granola Bars with peanut butter. Now, that's just good food. But, ask me in a week if I want it, and the answer will sadly be no.

4. Planning a low-key first birthday party for Camille. It will be just family, but the invitations were adorable and the outfit I found for Camille was absolutely perfect! I had to get the dress in 24 months to make it fit; kinda crazy how kids clothes start to differ in size just like adult sizes vary by brand! But, regardless of the size (it is a little bit big) it is fantastic and has little sandals and a bib to match!

5. Camille's snaggletooth grin! She has her two bottom teeth all the way in, which makes the grin look pretty normal. But, what separates her grin from all the rest is that her right eye tooth and left central incisor have come through together instead of with their mate! So awesome!

6. Pulling out toys she hasn't seen in a few weeks and seeing her experience their "newness" all over again.

7. Starting a list of everything that needs to be done to the house before it can go on the market. May sound like a big task, but I am thankful to at least get it down on paper.

8. Looking at tons of house plans and receiving a computer program from my dad that let's us put together a house how we want it.

9. Knowing that God is in control of the water approval for the land so we can really get down to business after it is approved on February 27.

10. Having new Glad Wisps air fresheners in the house in the Clean Linen scent. I finally figured out what they smell like - cheap cologne. But strangely, it smells okay to me.

It's a .......!

I'm making up for missing yesterday's update by informing all that read this of really good news!

1. It's a boy!!!!! We have been blessed with a little (only 14.5 weeks gestationally speaking) boy! He gave us a thumbs up in utero and cooperated enough to show us his outy! The doc said he was 90% sure it is a boy, so I am good with those odds in calling him Isaac! Pictures to come soon. I'm too tired tonight.

2. Feeling so comfortable with my OB and so happy that I have him. That's a tough relationship to be happy with because it is very personal!

3. We were able to talk about inducing little Isaac on the 7th of August if he hasn't already come before then. For any of you that don't know, Camille was born on 03/04/05. If it all works out, Isaac will be born on 08/07/06! How cool would that be?

4. Camille was very interested during the ultrasound and almost seemed like she understood what we were looking at. I think she got it!

5. Dearest Kara came into town and we got to spend a fantastic 4 hours with her. She is one of those special friends that you automatically just relax into when they are around you. I was able to talk and laugh about things I have been holding in just for her and wish I had her close to me all the time.

6. Not having to have my house spotless for Kara to come over. She's that good of a friend; you know the ones I'm talking about.

7. Since Camille was home asleep with Daddy when I took Kara to her brother's house, I actually got to turn up the radio and sing loudly to some classic DC Talk and Jars of Clay. Boy, did that take me back to high school. Although, saying DC Talk from 10 years ago is classic is just aging myself way beyond what I need to.

8. Even though my husband has never read my blog, I love him dearly, and know he'll get to it one day. Now you can't feel guilty about not checking in on us more often. You're not the only one. But, I guess he gets to live it everyday, so he's pre-forgiven.

9. Listening to Kara talk about almost being ready for kids, and remembering being in that position. The almost ready discussion comes very close to the, "Hey, we did it!" proclamation.

10. It's a boy!

Tuesday, February 14, 2006

It's almost Thursday

1. It is one more day closer to going to the doc to find out if the New Baby C is a boy or a girl! Thursday afternoon is going to be the highlight of our day!

2. It is one more day closer to Friday when I get to see Kara! Atlanta is just too far away for my liking!

3. Jason took care of all of Camille's needs last night as I did my Kappa thing.

4. The second round of letters for my 10 year class reunion are completed! How exciting to see everyone again in just a few short months.

5. Camille is starting to point at so many different things and then point to herself. A mom's interpretation: she is starting to understand that things have names. I will say the name of whatever it is that she is pointing to, and she is starting to get it!

6. The relaxation of Valentine's Day as a married person.

7. Getting to bed at a reasonable time tonight. Sweet sheets here I come!

8. Cleaning out my email inbox today. There are a lot of emails that I need to reply to.

9. Contacting the photographer that has taken our black and white pictures before and working towards making another appointment.

10. Ceiling fans! A must for a pregnant woman.

Two naps?! Yahoo!!

Today has been a nice break from this weekend and has given me many items to be thankful for.

1. After a very full weekend, our sweet Camille has taken two very long naps! I gotta keep that girl busy more often!

2. Hearing about Jake Lyon's uncle passing away and knowing the peace of God that family has during this tough time.

3. Working on my 10 year high school reunion. Being involved on this end makes it seem much more exciting than if I had just shown up!

4. Only getting up one time to go to the bathroom last night and not having to eat a bowl of Cheerios because I was starving at 3:00 in the morning!

5. Knowing that tomorrow is Valentine's Day and even though it is not going to be a big hoorah for either of us, it's nice to have a valentine I love and who loves me unconditionally.

6. Even though my mornings still stink with the pukies, my afternoons are turning out to be quite pleasant. Thank God for miracles!

7. A quiet house. No tv, no phone, no dogs running around, a resting baby. A peaceful Monday.

8. Being on the TU Kappa Advisory Board. I don't do a whole lot, but it's nice to get out and spend some time making a difference in college girls lives and being available when needed.

9. Seeing Camille eat blueberries with her breakfast this morning. They should call them purpleberries!

10. Looking forward to Friday when I get to see my favorite Kara Vonderkall!! I miss that girl more than you could know and want the week to fly by just to visit with her for a couple of hours.

Aaaah Weekends

Weekends are soooo nice. They just go by too fast. Most weekends will have a single post between the two days to keep my time with Jason and Camille to a maximum, and my time sitting here to a minimum.

1. The Olympics. It is just cool to see that many talented athletes work so hard and be so proud of their country. It is exciting to hear the stories of how they got there and the people in their lives that helped them or believed in them enough to support them all the way to the top. Believe in your kids!!

2. Seeing Camille play with the other kids in her class at church. She was so pumped to have other kids her age to play with.

3. Listening to her speak her own language with other kiddos. She was very specific about what was going on. And, the only one that knew what was going on was her.

4. A blissful Sunday afternoon free of any nausea or hints of the pukies. A new reason to love the outdoors.

5. Bulldozers. It's cool to watch Jason knock down trees where we are going to build our house.

6. Watching Camille play in the dirt and be so very upset when we tried to move on from the dirt. It was the cutest thing. She never ate any though!

7. Reading that when I ask her a simple question and she answers by shaking her head yes or no that she really does understand what she is answering to.

8. Camille really enjoys fruit and would eat only that if we let her.

9. Eating at Luby's for dinner. That was really good food!!

10. A washer and dryer that handles large loads of laundry. An average of 5-6 loads of laundry per week isn't too bad.

I'll just have to be twice as thankful

I missed yesterday's list. So today, I'll just have to be twice as thankful.

1. We met with the builder, explained our desires and budget and took him out to the home site. Once we got to the site, we were able to really get down to business and everything went well. We should hear from him first of next week on some other potential home designs and start nailing down details.

2. Knowing that most mornings I don't normally feel this bad. It's interesting that we never quite appreciate feeling good until we feel bad. Today, I really appreciate all those other days of feeling pretty good.

3. A pair of scrubs from a sorority dance back in college. Today, they are the most comfortable piece of clothing I can imagine being in.

4. A child that sure does appreciate sleeping in.

5. That Camille has good eyesight. She can find the smallest piece of fuzz on the floor, pick it up and try to eat it. We will be cleaning the floors today.

6. Toothpaste.

7. Family. Always willing to help each other out whenever it is needed.

8. A nice, winter morning. I have actually missed not having much of a winter.

9. Helping in Camille's class for church on Sunday.

10. For my very own personal reasons that only Jason would understand, the day Camille was born and what her birthday this year is keeping me from.

Wednesday, February 08, 2006

YAHOO!

We'll start with the real good one...

1. Camille was cleared of RSV today! No more breathing treatments! Yahoo!

2. Dr. Sood (Camille's pediatrician) said he doesn't like to compare, but that Camille was one of the best and cutest babies that he sees. That makes a mom proud.

3. That God has blessed us with a calm and personable child. I think I take that for granted more than I realize.

4. Jason is good at his job and provides well for his family.

5. TU's iMBA program. I am so glad Jason is home while he is getting his Masters. Hooray for technology!

6. A nice cold glass of tropical punch Kool-Aid (made with Sugar in the Raw so I don't feel as bad about refined white sugar).

7. The smell of whole wheat, fat-free brownies from Wild Oats cooking in the oven.

8. Appointment with potential home builders tomorrow morning.

9. Jason asking if he can get his nails done tonight. He may be a manly man, but he does enjoy my manicures. Does that mean if I give him a manicure, I get to go get one of my own? I like that philosophy...will keep you updated.

10. Leaning back in my chair and being able to see and feel the little bump where the baby is growing inside me.

Ooops

So I cut and pasted the wrong picture to go with the text. Oops! Use your imagination and I bet you can figure it out!
Have fun!

This is the day that the Lord has made

After a rough day, God blesses you with a semi-normal day. I thought I would add a pic of Camille posing as a future gymnast from yesterday's blog.

1. My Air1 verse of the day has actually stuck in my head today. "This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24

2. Camille actually took a nap this morning! We'll see how the afternoon goes.

3. My conversation with my sis-in-law, Brook. It was just nice to catch up.

4. I know I've said it before, but I don't know where I would be without Myoplex Protein Shakes. Scratch that, I know where I would be, knealing over a toilet.

5. My cardio class tonight at 5:30. Jason is coming home from work to watch Camille since we can't take her to the Kids Klub at the gym. Yahoo, a Mommy break that will get my blood moving as well as my tooshy!

6. The Archer Farms cheese tamales we found at Target on Sunday. They were yummy at lunch.

7. Seeing Camille's hair after she woke up from her nap. It was just crazy...flat as a board on one side and sticking straight out on the other. See pic at the end.

8. Telling Cooper to give Camille kisses as she stuck out her hand pointed at Cooper and broke into a belly laugh each time he kissed her.

9. Looking forward to watch Dirty Jobs on the Discovery Channel. I know, I know, the highly entertaining life of a mom, but it is such a cool/gross show. Makes me appreciate what everyone else does for a living...although some poopy diapers may rival their dirtiest job on the show.

10. Camille's choice of a book to carry around today. My MOPS book, "Just Give Me A Little Piece of Quiet: 60 Mini-Retreats for the Mom's Soul" by Loralee Craker. Ask me if I've read it. The answer would be nope. There are no pictures and cute rhymes that keeps an 11 month old entertained. My mini-retreats come in the form of just taking a bath and doing nothing after she is in bed. Maybe I need to read it to find a new way to retreat!

What a Monday

I'll just get right into it.

1. Disposable diapers. For as many times as our sweet baby pooped today, I don't know what I would have done had they been cloth and needed to be cleaned by me after cleaning her tooshy.

2. Camille's latest discovery of putting her head on the ground while the rest of her body sticks proudly in the air. One of these days she is going to flop over in a somersault and not know what hit her.

3. Even though Camille didn't take a nap worth anything today and kept pooping herself awake during both of them, and not giving me a break all day, she still manages to do the cutest things to make me smile.

4. When Camille is tired and there is a blanket on the floor, she falls onto it, sucks her two middle fingers, lays there a while, catches her next wind, plays for a bit and keeps doing it over and over until it is time for bed.

5. Jason understanding that when I have a day like today, I don't get anything done around the house. I really love that man.

6. Camille grabbing a book off her shelf, opening it, turning the pages, "reading" to herself and carrying the book around the rest of the day.

7. Jason bringing a Digiorno (sp?) whole wheat, low fat pizza home for dinner. Did I already say I love that man? Anyway, I love that man.

8. Sooooo close to not having to give formula to Camille anymore. She is making the transition to whole milk like a champ, and Jason really likes her whole milk for his coffee in the mornings. For some reason, it tastes better than skim milk...go figure.

9. Pants that unbutton and unzip so I can sit down in comfort.

10. Getting an email from Jason's Uncle Frank and Aunt Marilyn in Michigan and hearing that they are both doing well and love the blog. It will be a treat to keep them in touch since we don't get to see them very often. Love you guys!

Family Thankfulness

Today the family is sitting together since we can't go to church with Camille and we are going to do our thankful list together.

1. Camille is thankful for peeled and quartered grapes and string cheese.

2. Camille is also thankful that both Mom and Dad are peeling and quartering grapes to keep up with her inhalation of them.

3. Jason is thankful for parents, their generosity and their wisdom.

4. Jason is thankful for a calm, happy Camille and future hopes for the same in my belly.

5. Jason is thankful that Sarah can stay home to be a mom.

6. I am thankful that I can stay home to be a mom.

7. I am thankful for Myoplex Original Chocolate Protein Shake. I couldn't survive this pregnancy without it.

8. I am thankful for being able to sit down and watch a really impressive movie with Jason last night - Crash.

9. In relation to the movie, thankful to Robert and Brook for giving Jason the Blockbuster movie card for Christmas.

10. Even though I've sworn off letting Camille watch TV, I do appreciate the commercial-free, non-Nickelodeon, relatively healthy Noggin channel that she watches during her breathing treatment to help her sit still.

A good thing to copy

I have been reading my dear friend Keri's blog the last couple of days and have decided that she has a pretty good idea to hers. She uses it to list 10 things she is thankful for that day. Seeing as how I started this blog in December, but have really nothing to show for it, the decision has been made. I will copy her idea and make mine a thankful blog and might even share it with people now that it has purpose. In case you would like to get to know dear Keri, her blog is ksuelyon.blogspot.com. Visit it anytime! So for Thursday...

1. Waking up and actually feeling like getting dressed. For any of you who have been sick during pregnancy, that is an accomplishment!

2. Finding out that because of her age, Camille's RSV is not as serious as some baby's can get.

3. That instead of using a mask for her breathing treatment, she gets to use another device that she quite enjoys chewing on as she gets her treatment. Thank the Lord, fighting with her over a mask was NOT fun.

4. Even though she has one of the worst coughs I have heard in a child, Camille is actually still her happy little self.

5. Tax returns!

6. Jason's new (to us) truck.

7. Even though I still have morning sickness, it is manageable throughout the rest of the day with my protein shakes. Hope that it will go away forever one day?!?!?

8. The corn dog I ate for dinner last night. It was a craving.

9. The blissful thought of moving.

10. Family for so many reasons.
